Creative Cloud Slow, Takes over Internet

Photoshop Beta's annoying orange update warnings block portions of the screen. One of them you can't close.

I have tried to run the Photoshop update several times but it hangs on 1-2% indefinitely.

Re-installed the Creative Cloud app. Same problem.

When I try running update the entire internet in the office slows to .03mbps and my phone even can't connect to the modem router. As soon as I cancel the update the internet speed comes back and my phone connects.

So Creative Cloud is killing my internet. How do I fix this?

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.

No difference.

Did that a third time. No difference.

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*

Broken link but have the same uninstaller / repair file from before. Ran uninstaller and it says "Uninstallation of Creative Cloud dekstop completed with errors." Does't say what errors.

Reinstalled from https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/creative-cloud. Same difference stuck on 1%.

I don't think I have the time to unsintall every CC app and preferences. Ridiculous this installer just doesn't work.

that link's not broken for me.  you can try a different browser.

or contact adobe support via chat. there are 2 ways to contact adobe; chat and twitter:

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-com...

Did a reboot of my modem router through the device instead of a power off / on. Speedtest showed it running faster, fast enough for the downloads to be almost tolerable. till very, very slow to download Adobe apps, but I did FINALLY get my Photoshop Beta updated.

Thanks for the troubleshooting ideas. This will be a good reference to come back to. We restart our modem router fairly regularly and the office wasn't experiencing widespread download or slowness issues. So, we had assumed that connection speed wasn't a part of the equation. We're on Comcast and speeds are so inconsistent. We have a new modem router and it screams compared to the last. Comcast controls the software updates and we believe they throttle the speeds. This will be the first thing I check next time and then I will work your list. Thanks again for jumping on.

Hello there,

We're sorry for the trouble. Could you share your system info(OS, RAM, processor, hard drive space left etc)?

Also, have you installed the Adobe apps on C: drive or other?

It is important to undertand if your system meets the requirements for running Creative Cloud applications. Sometimes, the resources may get utilized as per priorites and that leaves the other apps and software run slowly.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Shivangi

Thanks for your response. Please see my answer to "kglad" above.

Please, please, please for the love of sanity do not put multiple orange warning popups or overlays on top off applications like Photoshop Beta that you can't close or get rid off. Plus the text in those was jumbled and looked super unprofessional.

Sometimes customers can't just update immediately so they have to navigate around those annoying, broken orange "update" messages.

Also, it would be helpful if Adobe gave more information than just, "This is procesing slower than usual" so we know some things to check.

Adobe being a world leader of innovation should be able to help with those two things.

Thanks.

@SCAgency

adobe suggestions have greater effect if made elsewhere.

for applicable apps, you can make (some) suggestions to adobe here, https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/x-productkb/global/how-to-user-voice.html

for others, use https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Thanks. Posted on to Photoshop ideas, but Creative Cloud has none. Not going to worry about that one.
