I cannot get creative cloud to start, and therefore cannot install Photoshop or lightroom. Keep getting an error that says "creative cloud is taking longer than usual to load". This started under macosx big sur, so I updated to Monterrey and I'm still having the same problem.

I've tried all the steps lined out here, but to no avail

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-app-doesnt-open.html

I've tried

  • uninstalling(using the CC uninstaller) and reinstalling
  • restarting my machine
  • updating my OS and reinstalling
  • The install works on my windows 11 machine for some reason, but not Mac

Carried out the commands in the terminal as started in the links above and the end result is still the same.

Press Command + Option + R on your keyboard.A dialog box appears, prompting you to relaunch the app.

Click Relaunch to launch the Creative Cloud desktop again.

Not sure if I did this one correctly, seems pretty straight forward but there was no noticeable difference.

Christopher, if you have already tried the suggestions offered in this discussion, then please check the settings for any installed security software.  You will want to make sure it is up to date and using the manufacturer's recommended settings.

The behavior you have described can occur if a software firewall or other security software components are blocking the Creative Cloud desktop app from opening and communicating with our servers.  This can be especially common if this is the first time Photoshop or Lightroom CC was installed on the computer.
