hi there,
I checked many discussions but found no solution for my problem.
I have a normal CreativeCloud which I wanna install on one of my notebooks. This notebook is used for business on the one hand (secured with McAfee and proxy) and for my personal use on the other hand.
Now I tried to set up the proxy settings to my CreativeCloud Manager, but couldn't find the options.
How can I configure the CreativeCloud to work with the proxy server?
Please note: Because the notebook is used for business too, I definitely can not unblock the URLs for the Adobe servers. There must be a possiblity to use the proxy.
Hope for helpf,
cu
So now I found the solution. This might be only one for our network but maybe this will help some other people to.
Please note: There is a solution for getting connection of CreativeCloud Manager to internet for connecting and downloading the apps. The apps itself do not get internet connection itself, so syncing preferences etc. isn't possible with this workaround yet.
So if you have a proxy running, you will see when clicking on Internet Explorer --> Tools --> Internet Options --> Connections --

Equipaas the Adobe Creative Cloud application will utilize the proxy settings entered into your operating system. If you are using Windows this information should be entered into your Internet Options control panel. If you are using Mac OS then it would be entered in your advanced settings in the Network preference pane.

Obviously it doesn't. Every time I start ACCM and enter my credentials, I get error message "no internet connection".
No support steps helped. So they said the proxy is doing this issue and that it's not repairable in ACCM, only with enterprise / team edition.

Equipaas which operating system are you using? Where are you currently entering your proxy server settings and credentials?

It's Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit.

Equipaas can you please verify the proxy information is entered under the LAN settings of the Internet Options Control Panel. It should be entered in the second dialog in the posted screen shot.

Interesting well if you are not using a automatic configuration script then it should work. I would recommend requesting your I.T. department to review the Adobe Creative Cloud Service Access Documentation for IT section of http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html.

Thanks for your fast answers at all ... and your will to try to help. Last couple of times I tried phone and chat support were disastrous... will try to work with them but tried before 😕 nothing worked.

Your welcome Equipaas. It looks as if you have the proxy information in the proper location on your side. The documentation referenced should allow the proxy server itself to be configured to allow access.

Call me Florian, cause in conversation I don't like anonymous nicknames 😉 So that's ma name.
The problem is, that I don't have the possiblity to configure the proxy myself because as I told it's part of the "business" half of my notebook which is integrated into a big company, where allowing access throught the firewall and the proxy is absolutely forbidden.

Nice to meet you Florian.
Are you able to use the laptop outside of the corporate network? If so you can activate and download your software when not connected to the proxy. If you have an annual plan your software would then remain active up to 99 days.
Have you been able to use previous Adobe products successfully on this network? If so you may want to consider using Creative Suite 6 which is still available from Adobe.
Finally the only other option might be to obtain a Creative Cloud for Teams account. This would allow your company to deploy and preactivate the software. Thus it would not be necessary for your company to modify their proxy server. They would however need to periodically deploy updates as well as a new license since there would be no network access.

There is no possiblity of connecting to the internet without using the proxy; the notebook only connects to internet when getting a virtual network or is inside the company network.
Using the CS6-Version or the Team Cloud is actually no option, because the software isn't used by the company so they won't pay and support it. It's just the permission to use the notebook for private stuff too.
So I think I have to wait until the software will be some day integrated in the companies software distribution...
Thanks for your constructive discussion ... not the answer I wanted but the one I supposed.

So if you have a proxy running, you will see when clicking on Internet Explorer --> Tools --> Internet Options --> Connections --> LAN-Settings you will get the windows mentioned above.
Now if you have a proxy running, the second point should be marked and there should be a proxy-adress. So if you wanna get the internet connection running for your CCM, just check the last option (and maybe uncheck the second one). Now your proxy shouldn't make any problems and your CCM should connect to the internet.
Worked with our network here, maybe solution for other people. Still not syncing the app prefs but installing the apps now without prefs is much better than not using the apps 😉

Excellent Florian thank you very much for the update! You are correct that the example I posted did not have proxy information entered. As you indicated entering the proxy information should allow Creative Cloud to function.
The automatic detection of settings or the automatic configuration script is not currently supported. Although to be honest when I worked regular in an environment, which utilized a proxy server, this seemed to be a common issue with most applications. The manual configuration was the most reliable method of utilizing a proxy server and allowing the applications to access the Internet.

This behavior can be confirmed.
Creative Cloud seems not to be able to get the proxy setting from an automatic configuration file.
If the proxy server (from plain text in automatic config file) is manually entered (ticked "Use a proxy server for your LAN") it gets an connection. This is still an issue with the latest version 1.1.1.220 of the Creative Cloud client on Windows 7 Professional x64
This behaviour is reproducable.
The active configration file URL can be retrieved from the registry by the following command:
reg query "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Wpad" /s | find /i "WpadDetectedURL"

Thank you for this post. i was having the opposite problem - -that is, that the Creative Cloud desktop application could not detect an internet connection when, under Internet Options and LAN setting, the proxy check box was checked. Your solution suggested to me that unchecking the proxy server connection may 'allow' the Creative Cloud Desktop application to 'see or recognize' the presence of an internet connection. I tried unchecking the box and the CC Desktop connected. Thank you again!!
