Creative Cloud won't update or show apps

When I open the Creative Cloud app on my mac it says there is an update available. I load the update and after it hits 100 percent it closes. I open it again and it just says again that there is an update available. I've done this a bunch of times. I've restarted the computer, closed other programs, etc. Nothing seems to be working.

Thoughts?

Sign out of your account... Uninstall... run the Cleaner...

-for non-Cloud programs you need to DE-activate before uninstalling

Sign out of my account where? In the Creative Cloud app? There is nowhere to do so.

Also, i tried to run the uninstaller and it said i couldn't because there were apps on the computer that need it.

this is seriously the stupidest system i have ever encountered. there is so much adobe crap on my computer. and it shouldn't be so hard to update a program. i'm only getting three options at the sprocket: help, quit, and open as window. that's it.

how do i just delete everything off my computer and start over?

the only app on my computer is lightroom. do i need to delete that app? i'm afraid of losing info from catalogs, etc.
