I completely understand that the Adobe folks have shut down the aged registration server(s) and that we can no longer re-register the software we have...
I completely understand that they are making a special release available for download with a new serial number. Got that part done.
Then they provide an Akamai NetSession interface tool that's supposed to perform the download and initiate the installation... but it doesn't. It looks promising for a few seconds and then indicates that all three download files are "Waiting". This is a perpetual state. There is no change. There is no progress. What is Akamai "waiting" for?
Not sure if you're saying you plan to rename the 7z files as ZIP. If you were planning to do that, don't! The one EXE file looks for these files by the original name Adobe gave them.

I'm not sure who had marked this question as answered, but it certainly is not. I am very much still in need of assistance. I have attempted to download the (three part) CS3 files and it appears that nothing is actually downloading. All three say, "Waiting". I have enabled cookies. I have noted that in Chrome the progress bars for the downloads flash briefly and then go away... in IE they appear and remain, but do nothing other than say "Waiting". I need help on this right away... PLEASE. I have got to get my Master Collection for Creative Suite CS3 reinstalled, if at all possible - today.

Isaiah25, sorry you are continuing to face errors utilizing the Akamai download manager. If you are unable to overcome the current difficulties on this computer then please use an alternate computer to download the updated installation files from Download Adobe Creative Suite 3 products . You can transfer the files to a USB drive and then install on the current computer.

I am trying to download and activate CS3 as my original version with the dics needed a new serial number thru your convoluted reasoning. So I have downloaded the 3 parts. And the second part does not save as an executable file!! Whoever added this to the system did not properly link it or something. The file is ADBESTAMCS3_ESD1_WWE.7z and once it is downloaded when you go to install it there is an error dialog box that says it is NOT an executable file because it ends with .7z and NOT .exe!! Please send me a real link to file 2 of 3 that will actually download and work! That will OPEN and Install! And you have NO phone number for anyone to reach a real human that can help with this. It took over 30 mins to download and then it doesn't work! My original program was just fine until you changed the configuration when opening it for verification and would not let it work.

two of the 3 should be 7z files and only one should be an exe (if there are 3 files. ie, only one should be an exe, the rest 7z.) the exe should extract files from the 7z files and start installation. ie, put all 3 in the same folder and double click the exe.

Storcknest, if you are not seeing an exe file then please use a different web browser. The settings, or add-ons, of the browser you are using, are preventing both the 7zip and the exe file from being downloaded to allow for extraction. Both files most be downloaded to the same directory to allow the extraction process to be successful.

Okay I now understand the z7 as a zip file. But it still did not jump to that file when I opened the first part 1 of 3. I will try again and be back hopefully without issue... but I am not feeling it is suddenly going to work. Will let you know once I am back at that computer to install this.
