I have PShop CS2 installed and the upgrade to CS5. CS5 needed CS2 (I think) to do the upgrade. Can I know safely uninstall CS2.

On Win 7 PC.

Thanks

Andrew

YOu do not need to uninstall CS2, but if you intended to it is better to uninstall before installing the new version.  Uninstalling afterward could remove some shared elements.  You did not need to have CS2 installed to do the upgrade

Yes you can as you already have the updated version than CS2 which is CS5 installed. Go ahead, uninstall it from Control Panel.

    Thanks Arpit

This answer is helpful but seem s to conflict with Ned's answer that uninstalling CS2 may remove shared elements of PS, is this true?

    Hi,

If you are upgrading to CS5, you don't need to install the CS2 on the computer. You just need the serial number of CS2 & CS5 to install the upgrade of CS5.
