CS4 Install - Invalid Serial Number

I am trying to install my Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium - CS4 on my 2018 MacBook Pro laptop but keep getting an error message:

"Invalid Serial Number, The serial number you entered is not valid. Click OK to retry entering the serial number."

I have triple checked and the serial number is accurate by logging into my Adobe account.

I have a valid serial number for both:

Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium - CS3

Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium - CS4

TECH:

Apple MBP

OSX 10.13.14

Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium - CS4

It says I can sign up for a 30 day trial and add the serial number after... Does that work or will I be messing things up by doing it that way?

What's Up Adeobe?

Mdleroy, I can confirm that the serial number registered under your account for Creative Suite 4 Design Premium for Mac OS is valid.  It will also work with the installation files available at Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products. Please try the suggestions offered by DelphiZoa in message #1 of this public discussion. If you migrated files to your new MacBook Pro then the steps suggested should allow you to resolve the error with the serial number not being accepted.

I should also note that I myself don't have CS4 and therefore haven't tried it on my Mac, but reports generally indicate that there are issues running it on 10.13 High Sierra. You might want to check out this thread for feedback and options: CS4 with Mac High Sierra.

Hi Mdleroy,

The most common cause of this error message is a mismatch between the serial number and the product. I am guessing since you have a brand new Macbook, you are installing via download (Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products) rather than from the original discs, is that correct? Are you certain you have selected the exact product you own? You will get an invalid serial number message if you own CS Design Premium but accidentally downloaded—for example—CS4 Design Standard. Make sure also that your language/region and license type (individual, educational, enterprise) is a match.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, try the steps in this help document if you haven't already: Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite. Installing as a trial is the last option on that list, and, to answer your question, that does sometimes work and will not mess things up.

Let us know if any of the above gets you working. If not, please post a reply to this discussion, and we'll go from there.

Thank you for your feedback. In my case I do have the correct download for the product I am trying to install. I got it strait from the Adobe web site:

Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products

I will try and install the trial and then enter my serial number. I will also run the CC Cleaner Tool to see if that help. Thanks for the link.
