CS4: the installation database is corrupted

New Here ,
Sep 20, 2017 Sep 20, 2017

I needed an new OS and now I am trying to install my software again. I know it is old, but I do not have the money to buy new stuff, so it has to do. I try to install from my DVD (Creative Suite 4 - design standard) and get this error: the installation database is corrupted.

I then downloaded from Adobe's site and try to install which gave me the same message. So it seems there is a problem with the installation database, but I have no clue.

Solved: It was a caps.db file in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Backup

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 12

I renamed both and everything is up and running
