I have a licensed copy of Photoshop CS5, that I want to load on my Mac Book Pro. I have the CD but don't have a CD drive. I went onto chat and found the download. When I tried to open it, I got the error message "install" is damaged and can't be opened...
I spoke to Apple, who suggested changing the preferences to allow apps from anywhere. I did that, and the program began to load. However, after signing in, etc. the install began to run. It showed downloading at 10%, 28 minutes to go. Then it simply stayed at the 10% and the minutes to go kept increasing for a couple of hours, until it reached over 400. At which time I gave up. It wouldn't cancel on its own. I shut down the computer, then removed the downloads, etc.
So I am starting from a clean slate again. Chat is no longer available to help me. I can't find this problem anywhere. I can't call Adobe. I simply have no idea what to do.
Can anyone out there help?

Lauran have you downloaded a fresh copy of the installation files for Photoshop CS5 Extended? The retail installation files are available at Download CS5 products. Photoshop CS5 and Photoshop CS5 Extended use the same installation files.

Lauran what specific installation errors are occurring when you try to install Creative Suite 5? You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CS5, CS5.5, CS6. You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

"Install" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image
A call to Apple support suggested I change my preferences to open app from anywhere. that permitted me to begin the download, but it got stuck at10% and just showed minutes going up instead of down.
