CS6 transfer to a new hard drive

New Here ,
Feb 09, 2017 Feb 09, 2017

Not sure what board this question would be best -- basically have CS6 photoshop purchased several years ago -- did not register the program.  Did a clone drive to put a new HD in my system and old drive was formatted -- and now system says I have a trial version.  Do not have serial number -- only thing I have is the original purchase order (work at a university).  Had what I thought was the license number, but it is not accepted so perhaps is incorrect.  Adobe does not provide technical support for older versions of the program and pointed me to the forum.  Any help greatly appreciated.

If your Photoshop was a retail box, the serial will be inside the box, most likely Adobe will not be able to track the serial number for you if you haven't registered it, nor the vendor who sold you the box can.

If however your license was a what used to be called volume license, then the serial number came to you via email as a PDF certificate, and this can be tracked by Adobe.

Which one is yours?
