CS6 Web and Design will not extract files

Explorer ,
Nov 18, 2014 Nov 18, 2014

I am attempting to download CS6 (design and web premium package), from the website and once it is downloaded and I attempt to start the extraction/installation I get an error that tells me that the file is corrupt and I should download again, but have done so many times. I am in the middle of a design job and had to come to the UK to visit for a few months so decided to just download from the site onto my UK computer (Vista) when I got here rather than bringing my physical DVD with me and now I am regretting this

I  have seen posts in regards to the download since 2012 so it seems that it is an old problem that has yet to be fixed. I wonder whether anyone knows where there may be an alternative download. I assume I cannot download the individual programmes and use the serial number for the package on both (I wish).

If anyone can advise it would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools

and activate with your serial number.

if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.

the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

Thank you Kglad, but I think this ends up linking you to the same source files as going directly to the download page at adobe. I downloaded from here a couple of days ago and yet I still got the same error after trying to open the downloaded files. I was hoping there may be another mirror site that would give me a different file but no luck so far.

these are not the same sites, but you may have the same problem because you're using a problematic browser and/or connection.

Downloads available:

Download and installation help for Adobe links

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

I downloaded from both of these and with different browsers (Chrome, Mozilla and IE). The only thing is where I am staying has slow internet but I thought that even though downloads can glitch it would be unlikely to do so every time. Do you think I should try to find an ethernet cable and connect to download? Or maybe I can download through the desktop which is hardwired to the router to my external drive?

If this may solve the problem then I can do this. Adobe mentioned that they will be able to help me, but if the issue is the download quality then short of getting them to send a replacement DVD then fixing the issue with the download method may be the only way to get it to work. Thanks for all of your time.

either use a better connection or use a download manager.  i don't think you can get a disk any longer.

You can also download the installation files onto a USB drive on a different computer.  Depending upon your country/region you may be able to utilize your public library to download the installation files.

Yep, I am going to download the files onto a USB or my external HD through my parents' computer as the internet is wired directly to it. If not I will try at my sister's. I will let you know if it solves the problem.

Thanks.
