Deactivating CS4

To my surprise, I'm unable to deactivate Adobe CS4. Each time I attempt to, it says it failed to connect.

I attempted to go to the Adobe LWS. Logged in, but I'm not "authorised" to use this. I registered and activated my suite, so I'm not sure what else is there to do. I'll attempt a chat at another time, but my immediate thought is Adobe trying to push me toward its subscription-based service. This product is a couple hundred bucks and is working perfectly for me so I intend to keep using it, saving myself funds in the long run.

Thanks to anyone who may have some ideas on how to resolve this. Would contacting support via chat result in any assistance deactivating the license so I can move it to a new computer.

why are you trying to deactivate?

if you're trying to reinstall on the same computer, that's not necessary.

if you're trying to install on another computer AND you're seeing an excess activation count error, using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here and, when available, click 'chat', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and request an activation count reset.
