The DNG converter works on the Folder level, not File level. Select the Folder the files are in that you want to convert.

Please read the instructions for using the DNG converter, it is covered in that

Have you actually INSTALLED that converter program?

Just downloading it from the Adobe website doesn't Install it.

let me rephrase.........

there is nothing to work with !!!     i have no new window after i try to launch program.   there is no dialogue box.    there is no GUI.     the screen appears as it did prior to attempting to launch the converter.    so while i can appreciate that it works on a folder basis..... i will guess you need to be able to point it to a folder?  yes ?   in lue of that, yes, i tried a right click since there was no other option.     so either you have something more helpful than reitterating it's a folder driven program, hop off.

Ok have you actually Installed the DNG converter program? Did the install place an icon, Link, Shortcut, Alias in the Windows start menu or in the Mac Dock or in the Mac OS X Aplications folder on your Mac Hard Drive?

What kind of system are you using, Mac or Windows, and what exact version of Mac OS X are you using (that is IF you are using a Mac)?

ty.....
win10 (def not a mac) 64bit.    during the install, there is not any requests for action (do i wish to place an icon on the screen or pin to task bar).     it runs through the set up (it will show you progress) after a short bit, it will bring up the "im finished" screen.   click ok and done.   converter 12.1 btw.

OK I see you are using Win 10.

The Default install location for the DNG converter is

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe DNG converter\Adobe DNG Converter.exe

Please check that location for that converter .EXE file. If it is there then Double Click on it.

You should get a screen like this.

location checks out fine.    however, on launching the .exe file, the screen has a blip ever so breifly but nothing.   the screen shot you show never appeares (hence why i can't point it to a folder.....)

None that I know of. I would try doing a Reinstall of the program.

Take a look in the Control Panel > Programs and Features and make sure the converter is listed. If it is try uninstalling first then do a Reinstall.

Can you state the DNG converter program version number? Every time Adobe updates Adobe Camera RAW the converter program gets updated and some times a Google search points to an older version.

looking at the program list..... it shows the folder, hover over it and it drops down to show the .exe link to launch as if it is there.

mine is doing the very SAME thing.    try to launch the program..... just a flicker and nothing.     no dialouge screen, no interface, no options due to nothing being on screen.     R clicking a raw file does not prompt to open with converter.....    yes, program was actually installed (12.1) on win10 (64bit) and PC ws rebooted for program changes to tke effect.

READ my Reply above. The converter does Not work on the File level, there is NO Right Click menu to convert individual RAW files.

It works on the FOLDER level. Select the folder the RAW files are in that you want to convert.

PLEASE READ the Instructions for using the DNG converter.

I have the same problem: I downloaded and installed the Digital Negativer Converter v. 12.2 several times. It does not show up in the list of apps and does not run when double-clicked, or when I select "run as administrator" or when I select it from the Start menu or anything. Just nothing.
