As stated, do I need Adobe Genuine Service installed to be using the latest and upcoming AI features in Premiere, or other CC apps like Photoshop, After Effects, etc.
I've tested the generative extend feature in the latest Premiere beta, and it seems to be working fine, but I still wanted to confirm.
What happened is I didn't check the box for installing AGS when I was installing my Creative Cloud Desktop app for the first time, so I didn't end up installing AGS.
Now I'm scared that I won't be able to use AI features properly, or I won't be able to use them later, if I don't have AGS installed.
I checked online, and with Adobe support; there's no individual installer for AGS. You have to reinstall the CC desktop app apparently. So I uninstalled it using the Adobe Cleaner Tool and then reinstalled the CC desktop app, but during the subsequent reinstallation, it didn't even give me the option to install AGS.
And someone from Adobe support also told me that AGS does check if you have a valid subscription to let you use the AI features, but I'm unsure about the validity of that statement because I was able to use and export and generative extended clip in Premiere, without having AGS installed. I haven't tested any other AI feature so far.

you'll see an error message if you're missing something that's needed.

Hmm alright. But if it's gonna be a problem later, I'd rather take some form of action now. By the way, since the post, I used the cleaner tool to completely wipe all Adobe and creative cloud applications from my Mac, I even went into finder and deleted quite a few remaining traces. The I did a clean install of creative cloud and my apps again. Guess what? No option again to install AGS.

No option again to install AGS.

Maybe it was installed automatically and is running in the background.
It might be hidden somewhere.

The same thing happened to me! I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 with Adobe Genuine Service. But then I couldn't find my product key. So I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall both programs and restarted my PC. On the second install, the option to install Adobe Genuine Service was missing! Perhaps it will reappear after I Revo Uninstall all Adobe apps... back to the battle!!!

I did not. I tried to do a system restore to the point before I Revo Uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro. But my computer wouldn't let me. I'm homeless and don't have time to investigate why.
