Do we seriously need all these processes for a single program?

Wait until you see the number of processes needed to run your software. Single app or all apps, running or not, all the same.

Also, you may go ahead and uninstall the Creative Cloud Desktop App since you do not require the Creative Cloud App , by downloading the Uninstaller from : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html 

Acrobat Pro DC will work independently without the Creative Cloud App, however the "Updates" are pushed from Adobe Server to the Creative Cloud App and if you do not have the Creative Cloud App installed, than you may need to Launch Acrobat, and go to Help > Check for updates.
