Question

Download size?

Hello there!

After having done some research I still can't find a direct answer to this question: How can I view the size of an application installer or update before I download it from the application manager?

If an update or app installer is a few megabytes I might download it now, but if it is in the several hundred megabyte or gigbyte range I might wait until I'm not using the network for other work related things and download it over lunch for example. Is there a way to check this before starting a download?

Cheers,

Chris

For those updates on the product update page you can find the size of the updates at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/.  Feature bearing updates for Creative Cloud will not be available through the product update page however.  This is due to needing a Creative Cloud license to even utilize the update.

Is there any chance of the download size being displayed in the CC app? This is particularly useful for working while in the field. Sometimes updates have useful features, but knowing how to ration internet usage with patchy mobile net access is vital.

Not that I know of. This used to be part of the deployment guides in the past, but due to the frequent updates it seems nobody can keep up and it's no longer available. Though of course there may be info for paying customers with volume licenses somewhere...
