Question

Downloaded CS3 - where did Indesign go?

I had the installation CD's for Creative Suite 3 that I purchased a few years ago.  The adobe phone line said to go the website and download CS3 because registration no longer works for it because it's an older product.

I downloaded the creative suite, and I see all the programs there except for Indesign. I had no problems with it previously on my computer.  I can't find info on the adobe site about why it's not there.  I'm running windows 10 and have a 64 bit operating system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I really need Indesign and that's the only one I don't see!  ugh.

I have the same problem.  I do remember that Indesign was not part of the creative package for CS3.  It had just been created from Pagemaker being discontinued.  I had to purchase it separately or I was able to prove that I had owned Pagemaker and I got the serial number that way. I have a different serial number just for Indesign.  I cannot find a link to download Indesign cs3.  Did this ever get resolved and did you get a link for it?

Thanks,

John

Ah.  This does lead to the download for Indesign.  However, it is a little confusing as the title is for creative suite apps for CS3.  Indesign was NOT part of Creative suite in CS3.  However, if you start the process by putting in the original serial number for Indesign instead of the one for Creative Suite, it takes you to the correct page with the links.  Also note that it is IMPORTANT to actually remove the old version of Adobe Creative Suite and all other Adobe products and then re-install in order to get Adobe Creative suite to prompt for the new serial number.  THEN reinstall Indesign and Acrobat or any other Adobe products that you have.  The email support from adobe then suggested to remove some directories and their contents to make sure things were completely removed.  There is also an Adobe clean tool that I used to completely wipe adobe before starting the process.  Here is the transcript from adobe email:

Hi,

I downloaded Creative Suite 3.  I assumed it would give me the same programs that I purchased as CD for Creative Suite 3.

I don't know where the installation directory is, I can't find it.  I've been trying to find a list of programs it was supposed to download but with no luck.  I just can't figure out why Indesign wasn't installed.
