Question

Downloading InDesign trial software simply stops, perhaps 10% of the way. I have 20MB/s into my home, and the connection is fine. Is this what I can expect when I buy your software?

I am attempting to evaluate InDesign. Apparently this requires Creative Cloud, whatever, you package your software as you please.

The installer stops at around 10%. I am guessing, because there is no exact indicator, or any way to tell if it is still working or not.

I am using OSX Yosemite. I note with some amusement that you don't bother with piddling operating system details like appearing in the list of running applications (i.e. Command-Option-Escape doesn't show your installer). That's fine, because ps -ef | grep Creative finds your processes, and kill -9 XXXX works. Should I really have to do this? Pressing Cancel doesn't.

Is there any way to tell if this is hung up? It's been running for hours. I am running a fresh install of OSX (a lightning storm ate my computer the other night), so pretty please don't go there, unless it's to admit that you don't support Macs. I get 20MB/s into the house, so it's not my internet connection.

I would appreciate any advice on how to get this trial working.

uninstall anything cc that you may have installed, including the desktop app.

clean per Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

then install the cc desktop app, Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial

and use the desktop app to install your indesign trial (and any other trials you want).

I almost started to do what you have recommended, when I realized that I would have to go and find my license information for the installed products I was about to remove. It would probably be faster for me to:

    - attend a community college art program

    - learn to draw

    - do my whole project by hand with pencil and paper

Just before I choose the (increasingly appealing) option of deleting all Adobe products from my Mac, do you have any other suggestions?

Please don't take my tone as personal criticism. I genuinely appreciate your offer to help. I am, however, feeling frustrated.
