Downloading update to Adobe Elements 9 for Mac.

I wish to update my Adobe Elements 9 on a MacBook Pro.  I have downloaded a dmg file which was listed on the website as being several gigabytes in size.  When it arrived on my MacBook it was down to 28Mb when I tried to open it nothing happened.  There is no application inside the folder. I also have the windows version of Adobe Elements 9 on the same laptop in a windows partition.

Can anyone help to solve this?

Many thanks, Caroline Hayes

I'm afraid the work around didn't work for me and am not confident with Java. I think I will need to get some local support, but thank you both very much for your suggestions. Caroline

    you're welcome.

(but your best option is to purchase a version (15) that's compatible with your os, Software & Services )

    redownload after an aborted download.

if you have repeated problems use a different browser and/or different internet connect and/or a download manager that allows partial downloads to continue.

Thank you, I have been able to download the whole thing using Chrome, but I now have four folders - Deploy, Install, Packages and Payloads.

If I click on Install I get a message to say Install is on the disk image, you must eject the disk.  None of the other folders seems to contain and executable programme.  What should I do next please?

    Many thanks, Caroline

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan/Sierra

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-Adobe has a fix to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility in El Capitan/Sierra

-also install OLD Java runtime if needed https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US
