Hi Folks.     I am downloading the Creative Cloud update now and it is painfully slow.  It is now 25 minutes to get to 30%.    YES - I have a blazingly fast ISP - that measures right now 50 mbs download speed.   This in NOT on my end.

Thanks for the update, Texas Pilot.  I am sorry that you had to pay someone locally for computer assistance.  I would strongly recommend you back up any necessary documents and settings on the computer in case you face additional errors utilizing the current installation of Windows.

Error Code 160 occurs because the current User account is not being given sufficient access to Registry to perform necessary modifications.  Information on how to resolve this error by elevating the permissions of the necessary entry can be found at Troubleshoot error code 160 while installing Creative Cloud apps

From the log you posted above, Texas Pilot, we see the following:

FATAL: Error (Code = 160) executing in command 'SetRegistryValueCommand' for package: 'AdobePhotoshop19-Core_x64', version:19.1.2.277

FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: AdobePhotoshop19-Core_x64 Version: 19.1.2.277). Error code: '160'

WARN: Error Setting Registry - Start 64-bit:1 root:0 key:.jps name:Default type:REG_SZ data:Photoshop.JPSFileType.19. Check for Registry permissions. (Error: Error 5 Access is denied.)

The key that does not appear to have proper permissions is .jps.  I would recommend reviewing the install log in more details to see if any further details are given on the exact location of the .jps key within the registry.  Information on how to locate the install log can be found at Creative Cloud download and install errors .

After more hours with a PC expert (at my expense), and further research from three other sites dealing with this problem, the error seems to be pinpointed.

Short version:  Windows 10 had to be uninstalled and reinstalled, after which Abode and all its applications loaded, installed and updated quickly and perfectly.

Long version:   all of the "fixes" in this thread were tried, researched more, and tried again.  The .jps key was only part of the problem.  It seems that all keys in the PS hierarchy had permissions locked out. (NO OTHER SOFTWARE OR APPLICATION IN ADOBECC HAD THIS ISSUE) All fingers point to the installation of AVG software (firewall/antivirus) which was installed about a month prior.   It seems that "it" locked down the permissions to the point of corruption.   Permissions for these keys could not be changed.   We found three other users with this experience, all ended with "reinstall Windows 10."

Seems that this had nothing to do with Adobe.

Did it. Everything works.

Branching to a new discussion.

Texas Pilot do you receive any specific errors with the installation process of the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application?  Are you utilizing the process listed in Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps to install the Creative Cloud desktop app and any related applications?  Finally, what type of Creative Cloud membership do you have, Texas Pilot?

I have CC annual subscription.  Always accept updates,

Yes. I follow instructions.

This is partially resolved after spending $300 for in-home tech support (which is just about 3 years of CC subscriptions).   Still cannot get the latest update of Photoshop to install,  Had to use one version back.

Yes. I get specific errors which even tech support cannot correct - even using the online "fix" for this.

Here it is.   (BTW: Lightroom, Bridge install perfectly and quickly).  Also, the immediate previous version of Photoshop installed perfectly and quickly.  It is only this version of latest update.

Exit Code: 160
