Error 204 when I try to download current trial version of Photoshop with Windows 10 computer

I have been researching for a few days now and have tried everything suggested which is:

Turned off firewall in CP and McAfee

Have administrator rights on my computer

tried in IE and Google Chrome, changed setting to "run as admin" in Google Chrome

Tried to download from two different Adobe links

Went to my "downloads" folder and changed a few settings

In Downloads folder, right-clicked on "Creative.exe" file and right-clicked then selected "Run as Admin" and I get error code 81

There is one setting that I can't remove on my computer, which is a "Read Only", when I click to unselect it then click apply, when I go back in to same area, it shows "Read Only" again - could this be the problem

I really really really really hope someone can help me - nothing is working

I also ran the Adobe Cleaner tool as a last resort and still nothing

Thanks,

Dana

Sorry to hear that

You can try one thing , Extract the ACCCx3_4_3_189.zip file to C:drive , using extractor apps like Win Zip  or 7-Zip/ Winrar ..etc .

Then right click on Setup.exe file and select " Run as Administrator "   option .

Still same?

If you wish , you may check with Adobe Support , they can even remote access your comp and fix the issue for you .

I do have to add that I really love Adobe products and use Photoshop everyday at work.  I would love to be able to download the entire Creative Suite so that I can practice my skills at home as well, unfortunately, I am at that point of frustration that I need to give up and let it go.  I will continue to search to see if Adobe has some type of solution to the Windows 10 problem, because based on all of the research I have done, I know that I am not the only one experiencing this issue.

I can certainly understand how frustrating it is ,when things do not work accordingly. But there is nothing impossible when it comes to technical issues. all it needs is bit research and time hehe

We can try with advanced troubleshooting steps. we can try with Hidden admin account or even we can administer troubleshooting approach using installer log files which will provide clear picture.

However ,  it is Ideal to contact Adobe Support once before proceeding further .

Optional :

You can also download Photoshop using direct installer file for time being untill the issue is fixed.

Hi Brucgovn,

I tried your two steps and I get the same error, something about not being able to access a critical file/directory, except this time it gave me error code 41 or 43 (can't remember).  I am so exhausted by this whole thing, trying everything for the past 4 days, that I just downloaded GIMP with no issues whatsoever.  And now I know it's absolutely an Adobe issue.  I was really looking forward to using Photoshop at home but I guess it's GIMP for me since Adobe isn't working and there is only Forum support unless you are VIP.  Thanks for helping or trying to help.  I do really appreciate it.  -thanks, dana

Hi John,

I read and followed the advice on this forum which was to download the "application manger" and that did not work either.

Thanks,

Dana

If all steps fails , you may install using direct installer file :

Step 1)

Click on the below link , Sign In and open CS 6 download link. we are not downloading anything from CS 6 page.

Do not close the page , simply keep it open.

Download Creative Suite 6 applications

Note: *If we do not keep the CS 6 page , we'll get Access Denied error message while downloading direct installer file.

Then click on below link and download direct Installer file  mentioned in step 2.

It will directly starts installation process right away.

Step 2)

http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/KCCC/1/win32/ACCCx3_4_3_189.zip

Extract Zip first, then run Setup.exe file.
