Fireworks CS 6 now 64 bit?

Hi,

with Fireworks CS 5 I always become a memory problem. On the Adobe Webseite I found to Fireworks 6:

Performance improvements

  • To address the not enough memory issue, the usage of GDI objects by Fireworks has been reduced.
  • Memory usage limit increased on Windows 64-bit computers for better stability when opening and saving large files.

What does this mean? Is Fireworks CS6 now a 64-bit software or will I still get a memory error?

Thanks for your hellp!

It's still 32bit. It has only been enhaced to make use of the full theoretical limit of 4GB memory address space for 32bit apps on 64bit system whereas that was limited to 2.5 GB or so, which in effect would of course most of the time be even less. Maybe next time round it will become 64bit as well, though most browsers still being 32bit and thus things liek the WebKit engine used for previewing also not necesarily providing the best 64bit experience, converting web apps to 64bit may not be the most pressing issue...
