GST and Credit Card overseas transaction fee

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2016 Nov 07, 2016

As Adobe are now going to charge Australian users GST, does this mean that now the credit card transaction will no longer show that the charge originated in Ireland and so those of us that pay by Visa will no longer have to pay the credit card overseas transaction fee?   If this is not the case, with the inclusion of GST, this means that this fee will increase also.   And when will Adobe give us the option to pay with PayPal, as is the case in most of the rest of the world?

Is there an update on this please?  I have no issue paying one fee - be that GST _OR_ the foreign transaction fee.  But not both.

BTW - the Australian web page continues to list the price exclusive of GST - which is breach of Australian Consumer Law.

Requesting a response on this too please. Six (6) months wait time in response to a simple question is inexcusable.

I'd like a response on this as well please, especially now as Adobe emailed me this morning to tell me that "Adobe monitors currency exchange rates in order to make adjustments to our pricing up or down as needed." and are hiking up my subscription pricing per month on 5 June 2017 (AND you still list the website pricing Exclusive of GST)

So as an UPDATE my case was simply closed without a response from Adobe? I followed up with them and was first told to change banks to avoid these fees and then when asked if I could simply pay to ADOBE SYSTEMS PTY LTD ABN 72 054 247 835 Adobe support just told me these are not forex charges, but as per as their records it is tax (GST) amounts? I'm now going to contact my bank for clarification but suspect I'm just being given the run around.

Heya, I'm in a similar situation - my Westpac credit card is being charged the international fee although I'm paying GST (and the invoice has the Adobe Australia ABN). I lodged a case with Adobe and they've just closed it and pointed me to a forum thread where other people have the same problem but the solution is to contact support. Definitely getting the run around there.

I've contacted Westpac to see what they say, but honestly I'm not sure how to escalate this.
