Help with licensing issues?

Community Beginner ,
Aug 28, 2014 Aug 28, 2014

I moved to a new Mac Mini from an older iMac. Transferred files from a Time Machine backup. In 2008 purchased a license to Design Premium CS3. Deactivated installation on old machine. When I try to launch on new machine, I get an alert: "Licensing has stopped working..." I've followed instructions, and have tried to re-download the Design Premium CS3 installation files (404 error from Download CS3 products page). No luck. Help?

I've chatted with a nice support person, but apparently I was taking too long following the instructions on Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS, so the chat was terminated. Appreciate any help anyone could provide here.

If your "help" includes lecturing me about how I should have posted this elsewhere, or how I should subscribe to the current version of Creative Cloud, I will politely decline and ignore your help (though your advice may be true).

Thanks.

Hi tracemeek,

As CS 3 was not tested on 10.9.4, there could be an issues while installing CS 3 on Latest Mac due to incompatibility of OS and software.

Please check out the system requirements for CS3 from the link mentioned below.

System Requirements : System requirements | Design Premium

You can certainly try if it works for you.  You already have the link to download CS3 : Download CS3 products

I would really appreciate if you could try the download it with different browser or on another machine,

I would really appreciate if you could try the download it with different browser or on another machine, which you can carry in a flash drive/pen drive to your new Mac Mini.

If you get "Licensing has stopped working" error.

Make sure that you follow all the steps from : Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS

Please revert if the problem still persists

Thanks,

Thank you so much for the tip—it worked! the CS3 dmg files were missing (404) when I had used Safari. So I tried Firefox and it worked. I re-ran the installer, entered my SN, and now the suite is running smoothly. Thanks again for your help.
