I don't know if its my computer or the apps but it seems to be taking forever for the Affter Effects app to download

Please define "forever". At the moment it could be anything from "day after day" to "not instantaneous".

I just downloaded After Effects, and it took about 20 minutes to complete the download.
That sounds plausible, and not all that far off the mark. How's your internet connection speed?
