First, there is no such thing as Photoshop CS8 - There was a CS6, and now there is the Cloud version

Do you mean Photoshop ELEMENTS version 8?

What is your computer and the EXACT operating system?

-both Windows 10 and Mac 10.11 El Capitan have been known to cause problems

I assume you mean Photoshop CS (version 8), which was bundled with ImageReady.

If that's the case, go here, download and install the non-activated version of CS2 (also for CS owners). Windows only. Won't work on modern Macs.

According to Help > About Photoshop... , there is a version 8. When I click Help > Registration... it sends me to a page that no longer exists. Please help! My company isn't willing to purchase a new one while this version still functions.

Sagar, you can't download this old old version, and it wouldn't work if you did.

this thread is 6 years old and some of the answers no longer apply. eg, i used to be possible to use cs2, but that (along with cs3 and cs4) is no longer the case.

ie, you can't use cs (and cs2, cs3 and c4) products beyond a possible trial period.
