Like billions other across the years, I have a question:
How on earth you change the installation path of the creative cloud and the consequent apps, eg photoshop?
but most of all, why... why with the whole population used in these days to receive an installation prompt: "hey where do you wanna install our software?" adobe designers has decided to remove such prompt and instal the creative cloud and photoshop straight to C without asking the end user?
In posts like this one:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/change-path-of-installation/m-p/11113862
or video like this one:
https://youtu.be/uqBP2EvcLsU?si=eSrl3uy6rbDbjEUe&t=231
are saying that you can change the path in the creative cloud app (why???) but apparently the UI is changed and when I go to "apps" not I guess "all apps" I do not have the nice clean design I see at the linked page or in the utube video, I just see plans and app to try.
thanks

a. you can't change the location of the cc desktop app
b. you can change the location of the apps installed by the cc desktop app:
1. uninstall the adobe programs that you want to move (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html)
2. open the cc application, click upper left hamburger menu>file>preferences>apps>and change the install location (to a non-root folder on a local hard drive).
3. install the programs you wanted to move.

Do you know if there is a technical reason? There are some rare software that mandary requires to self install where Windows is installed, is this the case?
2. open the cc application, click upper left hamburger menu>file>preferences>apps>and change the install location (to a non-root folder on a local hard drive).
It does not works. I can uninstall photoshop, I cannot uninstall Acrobat (for that i had to go on windows control panel). When I try to select the volume F (which is a repartition) or to an external drive, it simply says "cannot install to root path" without saying why though, another heuristic missed 🥳

i don't know why adobe requires the cc desktop app to be installed on the os drive.
and again, you can't install to the root of a drive. and before you ask, i don't know why adobe requires a non-root drive.
