How to downgrade Bridge?

Community Beginner ,
Jun 25, 2014 Jun 25, 2014

Application Manager said, i should update Bridge and so i did. Now i can't run Bridge because of Mac OS 10.6 is too old. Why is CC although installing Bridge?!?!

And: How can i get the old - on my machine running - Bridge-Installation back? Application Manager only says Bridge is up to date...

[edit] sorry, i have to tell i'm speaking about Bridge CC. I had already installed CC - it's just the last update.

Epimicha if you are receiving the message Access Denied then it means that the Very Important Instructions at Download New Adobe CC Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant/Manager) | ProDesignTools still need to be completed prior to clicking on the download link.  If you feel you have completed the steps and are still unsuccessful then please try a different web browser.  It may be that your security settings or an installed add-on is making it impossible to successfully complete the instructions.

Epimicha are you able to select Bridge CC within the Adobe Application Manager?  Also is there any chance you can upgrade beyond 10.6.8?  Much of the difficulties you are facing is due to this operating system not being supported by our current releases.

Hi epimacha,

What version of Bridge di you have before installing the CC version.

You can uninstall Bridge from apps and install the old version from : ‘DDL’ Articles at ProDesignTools, Page 2

Regards,

Rave

I have the same problem as the Epimicha.. But that prodesigntools-link does not help. I found the link to the earlier version of bridge, but when I try to download it, it says:

You don't have permission to access "http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/KBRG/6/osx10/Bridge_6_LS20.dmg" on this server.

Reference #18.a4a4b8c1.1404026953.6b23c5c

I can't find help from adobe website directly. All I found is the update-files but not older installer of Bridge CC. Can you send the direct working link to installer?

Jeff, you're right. I've ignored the instructions thinking i just need the dmg.file...

Bridge CC is running again. So i will ignore all updates.

Is there any other known problems with CC and 10.6? Should i ignore ALL updates or just Bridge?

Epimicha from my understanding there is soft support within the most recent version of Photoshop CC for Mac OS 10.6.8.  So if you fully update Photoshop CC it should still function.

Yes, I got also the Bridge working again. Thanks for that. PS CC 2014 does not install on 10.6.8 with nor without the download assistant but there is no problem with CC so far.

There is no way to upgrade my Mac OS. My mac is too old for newer releases. That's not the problem. It's an outrage that Application Manager does install apps without checking the compatibiliy!

I had run Bridge CC before. It was only an update within Bridge CC... I don't want to downgrade to cs6, cs5 or anything else. I just want get the old version of CC running again...

Epimicha that is the updated version of Adobe Bridge.  Please run the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once that is done please download and install Bridge CC from the link offered by Rave in message #2.  Once installed you should the be able to run Bridge CC under Mac OS 10.6.8.

You may also want to install the 6.0.1 update at All the Adobe CC Updates: The Direct Download Links for Mac OS | ProDesignTools.  I was unfortunately unable to locate release notes on either update to determine which one removes support for Mac OS 10.6.8.  If you apply the update and are no longer able to run Bridge CC then please repeat the same process and do not apply the update.

Epimicha I have confirmed that the 6.0.1 update will apply successfully under Mac OS 10.6.8.  Please do not update Bridge any further while running Mac OS 10.6.8.
