how to install program on external hard drive

just purchased photo shop and i didn't want to download till i could put it in external hard drive;But i don't know how to.I do not want it on my desktop cpu. i use different devises all day and need it to be mobile as well

you don't need to install on your c drive, but you shouldn't install on an external drive.  you can save production files on your external drive.

but here's how: with the CC application opened, choose the 3 dots in the upper right corner and then choose Preferences.  in the preferences panel select Creative Cloud and then look for the Install Location drop down

You CANNOT make it mobile though. You MUST install it on each device that you are licensed to use it.

(Note: there is talk on the web of "portable" Photoshop, but this is a trick by software pirates to get you to install their malware).
