How to reinstall CS6 on a clean install OSX?

Hi all,

I just did a clean install of my macbook pro to upgrade to OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan) from OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite). I backed everything up using time machine to an external harddrive before wiping my mac HD. Now I am at the stage of reinstalling my programs...

I purchased CS6 Design Standard in May 2012, and I still have the serial numbers etc . It was purchased as a download.

I have logged into my Adobe account, but it shows no purchase history there or any means to re-download the installers.

I tried to drag and drop the adobe InDesign application folder to the Applications folder on my clean mac HD, but when I try to open the program it tells me:

"configuration Error"

Please uninstall and reinstall the product.

If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

Error: 16

Ultimately I would like to reinstall the entire CS6 Suite (not just InDesign).  I have look around the fora but can't seem to hit on exactly this problem. Maybe I need to spend more time looking... In the meantime, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Smart thinking but dragging and dropping Application folders will not work. Adobe software must be installed. There's a chance you may need to run the Cleaner tool prior to installing

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

    Download the CS6 installer from

Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications

Install then enter your serial number.

    Thank you!

I didn't need to use the Cleaner Tool. I simply re-downloaded and installed the programs from scratch, entering my serial number when required.  Because I was given an upgrade to CS6 for free after purchasing CS5.5, I needed to use both the serial numbers for CS5.5 and CS6 (hints for anyone else who encounters this problem).
