I can't activate my CS2

For the last two days I have been trying to get help. I using chat just before coming here and he said he could not help to come here. I have talked to three other chats.and they disconnected me while I was typing a message to him. I never though Adobe getting to the point where a person can't get help!

I hope things are different here.

My Dell computer crashed and dell could not fix it so they sent me a replacement. And of course I had to reinstall all of my programs. So I took my CS2 cd and installed CS2 but I could not get it to Actviate. So when talking to chat, I was told to download CS2 and installed it but I still can't get it to activate.

The last chat person told me to com here because there was an Adobe person here that would help me.

Hi,

Adobe has disabled the activations server for CS2 products due to a technical issue, so they have made the software available directly at this link, with no activation required:

Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products

Please keep in mind that CS2 is very old, is not supported, and Adobe's recommendation is to upgrade to a more modern version. That said, you can use the downloads at these links to continue your use of CS2 products.

Well, that's not really a surprise, I think. Adobe Creative Suite 2 was released in 2005, almost 12 years ago, when Windows XP Service Pack 2 was the current operating system of the day. Windows 7 didn't make its appearance until 2009, 4 years later, and by that time, Adobe Creative Suite 4 was already mature and Creative Suite 5 was on the way. Creative Suite 2 was obsolete before Windows 7 was ever even released.

If you want to run Creative Suite 2, a 12 year old product, you're likely to require a 12 year old computer and 12 year old operating system to run it. Adobe has been generous enough to open up the licensing for anyone that needs it, avoiding their licensing servers, but you really can't expect them to develop a CS2 version that runs on modern operating systems.

Maybe not, but to pull the rug out from under people who spent a lot of

money on the software....isn't cool. I am running Office 2003....13 years

old....just fine. And Adobe providing a link to software that doesn't work

is not helpful. They should provide an affordable upgrade option to CS 3 or

CS 4....something that works on Windows 7. And don't get me started on the

Cloud bs. Paying by the month?? Wow. Yeah, THAT'S a good deal.

I'm still unclear on what rug Adobe has pulled from under anyone.

They've provided a non-activation version of CS2 for those who still use it.

You haven't explained why it doesn't work for you.

You said "wrong OS messages". I've never heard of that error in relation to CS2 and Windows 7. Can you provide a screenshot?

What a scam.  The link just takes you a splash page hawking the damn cloud stuff.  I want my CS2 to work!  I paid a lot of money for it. I may lodge a complaint with the FTC.  I don't expect a free upgrade, but I DO expect the software I purchased from you to work.  I am now on Windows 7 and had to re-install on a new computer.  Guess I am screwed.  Nice that Adobe cares about their customers.

I have been aware of the "new" link for a long time. It does not solve the

problem. Windows 7 simply doesn't work with CS2. Not with this link,

anyway.


Works OK here.
