Hi, I had a computer crash and lost my CS4(purchased online).  How can I restore it?

Good, then download the trail here http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html.  THen type in serial number.  Read the instructions and follow EXACTLLY, or you will have download problems.

Hope this help.

Hey, I tried the website, followed procedures until it got to serial number.  I entered the serial number and it said it was invalid. It is not invalid.  However, I think it was looking for serial number for some other Adobe program, not Photoshop.  It never asked me what software I was looking for.  What to do?

Are you sure the serial number you have is the serial number for the product version you downloaded?

I think so.  I was on the telephone to the Photoshop people, and they recognized it.

Remark99ed posted an additional response at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1310668.

Remark99ed if you are receiving messages that you have an invalid serial number please check under your account to verify that it is registered.  Please see Find a serial number - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html for information on how to locate the serial number under your account.

In case the serial number is valid did you attempt to restore your files to a new hard drive or computer?  Also which operating system are you using?

Thanks for your reponse.  I went to the subject website and it has the same serial number as the one I entered earlier.  In answer to the question about where I attempted to restore files, I have a new computer and I attempted to restore Photoshop to it.

I believe the problem is that when I to prodesigntools.com it only provided two options for download.  One was Adobe Pro (VI, I think it was called) or Photoshoop Elements.  It didn't offer Photoshop was an option.  I attempted Adobe Pro VI(?) since I'm not familiar with it and I was hoping it would lead to a Photshop download.  But that's when I got the invalid serial number.

Anything else I can do??  Thanks again for your response.

Remark99ed the difficulties you are facing are very common for Users who have attempted to restore or copy their Adobe Creative applications from one computer to another.

Please perform the following steps to help recover your computer to a state which you can install and license Adobe software.

  1. Run all available Adobe uninstallers
  2. Run the CS Cleaner Tool - CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  There are also instructions on how to run the uninstallers depending on which operating system you are using.
  3. Try your installation again

You may also want to consider formating, restoring/transfering only your documents and settings, and then installing any needed Applications on your computer.

As for the other software can you be more specific regarding the version number?

If one of the titles was Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 then I am not aware of a location to download the software.  Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 would not function properly on a modern operating system but if you have your serial number you can qualify for upgrade pricing.  You can find more details about the current version of Adobe Acrobat 11 at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html?promoid=JOLIR.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see?

When I go to http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html

I see the below with Photoshop CS4 clearly available.

I don't know if you received my earlier response (I don't see it on the posted comments), so I try again.

I get the same screen you showed, but I didn't realize these were hot links.  I followed the instructions on the page and that's what lead me to downloading Acrobat XI Pro (not VI).

My question now is which one do I download.  I don't want the trial version so I assume I download from the "Creative Suites" group, but I don't remember which CS4 version I had.  When I confirmed the serial number, it just listed it as Photoshop CS4.  How do I determine which version to download.  Also once I know which version, do I download each file separately (I have WIndows 7)?  Are they all .exe files?  If not what do I do once downloaded.

Thanks again for your help.

Most of these questions can be resolved by carefully following the instructions on the page.

I followed the instructions on the page and that's what lead me to downloading Acrobat XI Pro (not VI).

You don't download Acrobat.

You go to a page to download Acrobat (step 2), click the link as if you're downloading Acrobat then immediately cancel any popups (step 3).

My question now is which one do I download.  I don't want the trial version so I assume I download from the "Creative Suites" group, but I don't remember which CS4 version I had.

I suspect you're misinterpreting the column headers. They're all trial downloads.

Download the relevant trial version (depending on your serial number and operating system) and enter your serial number to license the trial version on your computer.

How do I determine which version to download.

You want the Windows version. Which product you own is something only you and Adobe can answer.

Are they all .exe files?  If not what do I do once downloaded.

That info is found in the instructions:

"For Windows, each program consists of two files, an .exe and a 7-Zip file (.7z). The .exe file will only work once the .7z package is fully downloaded and resides in the same location. "

So download File 1 (.exe) and File 2 (.7z) under the Windows Product Trial column then double click the .exe file.
