For both platforms please make sure to rename the OOBE folder if you are continuing to receive Error 50.

  • Mac OS: Rename the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE to OOBE.old.
  • Windows: Rename the following OOBE folders to OOBE.old:
    • \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    • \Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

What three steps are you referring to?  Without indicating what you have done you are very likely to get the same directions to try.

Many people are having the same problem, and no solution. I face the same problem, also performed the 3 steps ... and everything remains the same. There is a serious problem here. Hey, Adobe... wake-up!

BergTroll are you referring to the steps listed in Error: "Failed to install" | Creative Cloud Desktop?  If so then were you able to locate the OOBE folder successfully?  Which OOBE folder did you rename or remove precisely?

I received this error today and the 'solutions' provided are terrible.   It would be fine to spend all this time digging through arcane folders in my mac if it actually worked.

Woah, this is on Macs too. I thought it was just a Windows thing. Hey, I've only been dealing with this for two years now so at this rate we might all be dead or have WWIII really fix the problem for them.

Or delete them. You may have to kill some process locks to do either a rename or delete.
