Unlikely. The installer getting stuck usually means that a componnet is missing or that there is a permission problem on your temp folder.... Impossible to tell based on so little info.
Sandepen to verify your installation media is not damaged please try copying the contents to your hard drive. If it copies successfully then your disc is good. Beyond that there are plenty of suggestions within Troubleshoot installation | CS5, CS5.5.
Once the files are copied I would recommend starting with that document and let us know if you have any questions.
