InDesign Free trial will not install

New Here ,
Jan 08, 2019 Jan 08, 2019

I am having this same problem. I downloaded Photoshop free trial, which worked fine, but a week later I tried to download InDesign free trial and it would not download, no error message, and Creative Cloud would not open. I spent an hour chatting to Deeksha Vijay on Saturday, whose suggestions were of no use. I then googled Adobe Indesign download Mac OS X 10.11.6 and found this forum. Everything described here is exactly what's happening for me. Today (Tuesday) I just called 800-833-6687, and got exactly the same questions and bad solutions that did not work on Saturday. I told them this problem is precisely described in this thread and also in https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2451573 (I can only install one program in CC, the rest won't install). I told them to talk to Jeff A. Wright or Bani Verma. They said that was in a different department, and would not, or could not, view this forum to see what I was talking about.

Where can I call to talk to someone who knows about this problem with OS X 10.11.6, which I have to hang on to so that my scanner and printer still work? PLEASE HELP, and not by suggesting calling 800-833-6687 again. Thank you.

p.s. I may no longer have an account because Monday, since I could not download InDesign, I canceled the account. Photoshop still works, and I am in a paid month of it, so maybe I still do have an account, although the person I talked to today said it was canceled.

Jg25540894, the uninstaller for the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application will not run when other Adobe CC applications are installed.  If you do want to remove only the Creative Cloud desktop app then please download and run the Creative Cloud desktop app uninstaller utility available at Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application

If you run into errors, Jg25540894, then you may also want to complete the four solutions listed in Resolve installation failure | Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application

I already tried this: Steps- 4) Navigate to following location /Library/application support/adobe and Delete Slstore and slcache . There were no Sistore and sicache files in that folder.

I already tried repairing, and then uninstalling CC app.

Branching to a new discussion.

Jg25540894, sorry you have been facing problems using Photoshop and InDesign CC.  I see from your most recent update to case ADB-5216563-N8F5 that you determined the error was related to the printer and scanner?  Which Printer and Scanner are your company using? Did you still need additional assistance or are you now working with the printer/scanner manufacturer to resolve the error?

The discussion you referenced at I can only intall one program in CC, the rest won't install... the individual was attempting to install the Creative Cloud membership on a computer that was managed and maintained by the Government organization they worked for.  They were blocked from installing CC applications, or contacting our support team, by their organization.

No the problem has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER AT ALL to do with the printer or scanner.

The problem is described perfectly at

I can only intall one program in CC, the rest won't install...

and evidently only occurs with Mac OS X El Capitan, ver 10.11.6

and evidently was only resolved by some kind of workaround for the download.

I tried to post this question on that page, but you all denied that posting.

Furthermore, there was no reference at all in my chat re ADB-5216563-N8F5 about a scanner or a printer.

Furthermore, why does Photoshop work perfectly if it has anything to do with a scanner or printer (neither of which are currently connected to be computer anyway).

Okay, I know what I am going to do.

I am going to cancel my month of Photoshop and erase all Adobe from my computer.

Then I will try to download InDesign.

If that works, it will prove it is exactly the problem described in the other page of this forum

that somehow CC cannot download a second Adobe program on this system.

Then I will go travel to my public library, which fortunately has all of Adobe CC on a computer,

do whatever fixes I discover need to be done with Photoshop,

then return home, put those edited images into the Indesign file of the book I am try to get re-published,

finish editing with InDesign and opening all old legacy files,

remove InDesign and end my association with Adobe.

I don't like Quark, but I may have to move to that.

I don't like Gimp, it's not nearly as elegant as Photoshop, but I had no trouble downloading it and getting it to work.

Ok, then I am sorry, Jg25540894.  I do not understand the reference to the printers and scanners in your most recent update to support case ADB-5216563-N8F5.  You can find information on how to review the information associated with your recent support cases at View Adobe Support cases .

I would recommend you continue working directly with our support team as it appears you have an individual membership.

As previously discussed the individual who posted in I can only install one program in CC; the rest won't install... has either a Creative Cloud for Team or Enterprise membership as there were no memberships associated with their e-mail address.  If you do feel that this discussion is relevant to you, then please work with whoever is managing your computer, so that you can be allowed the ability to install software on the computer successfully.

The individual who posted neither had their own Creative Cloud membership nor were they given the ability to install the software with the membership that was assigned to them.  You do not face these restrictions with your membership, Jg25540894.

Thanks Jeff. I have complete control of my computer, and am the only one that has control of it. I had NO TROUBLE downloading Photoshop and using it a week ago. I have been downloading and using Adobe products for over twenty years, until it was no longer downloadable without an ongoing fee.

Okay, maybe this is a new problem.

Nothing that Deeksha Vijay suggested in the chat session worked.

I tried to un-install CC but the un-install refused to work because "you have Adobe programs installed on your computer."

Open to suggestions. I have until February 2 to cancel Photoshop.

The person I spoke to on the phone this morning suggested that the reason the InDesign download didn't work was that I no longer had an account, which was utterly ridiculous because I tried and was unable to download InDesign SATURDAY, and did not cancel the InDesign free trial until MONDAY.
