InDesign Upgrade will not accept PageMaker 6.5 Plus Serial No

My old computer on which the Adobe InDesign CS5 Upgrade was installed has given up. I am now trying to reinstall on a new laptop. The upgrade was from Page Maker 6.5 Plus for which I have a Serial Number which includes letters and numbers. When I reinstalled previously the Adobe technician, after approving my bona fides, came up with the pressing of a key combination which allowed me just to enter the InDesign serial number and "Hey Presto" I was up and running. Does anyone know of using this technique to circumvent my install problem.

    Unfortunately, no one here (user to user forum) has any privilege to be able to assist you with activating your software.  You might try sending private messages to any staff members you see... they might be willing to try to help.  Staff people will have "STAFF" indications - be wary of false prophets.

    They might not offer any help as they no longer support older Adobe products, but you can try.  Also, you might find that the new system does not gel with older software anyways.  You might need to retain an older machine in order to retain use of the software.

    Many thanks but, sadly, the chat person said they were unable to help but try the forums. So I'm back again and ask if anyone is able to help. My OS Windows 10
