Installation of Technical Communications Suite fails on new Win 10 machine - "update required"

New Here ,
Jul 23, 2021 Jul 23, 2021

I'm receiving this error message when trying to install the latest version of TCS downloaded from Adobe's website: "Your browser or operating system is no longer supported. You may need to install the latest updates to your operating system."

Windows 10 and all browsers have been updated.

I followed the instructions for editing the registry (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/global/update-operating-system-and-browser.html#fix-error) and rebooted, but nothing happened.

My computer exceeds minimum and recommended specs for each program in TCS. I've had TCS installed on my machine before and it installed and ran fine, but I recently had to do a clean installation of Windows.

Looking around at the forums, I'm seeing a lot of people with this problem when trying to install and run various Adobe products over the last few days, which makes me think it's a problem with Adobe's installer. For some reason, it relies on Internet Explorer, so perhaps a recent update to Windows 10 isn't playing nice with Adobe software at the moment.

Some people were able to get it up and running by editing registry settings, and some people weren't. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me.

Is your Windows machine enabled with TLS 1.2 protocol?

I ask because Adobe recently deprecated connections over TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1. Without TLS 1.2, you cannot connect to Adobe's servers.

Yes, I checked, and TLS 1.2 was enabled in Internet Explorer.

After downloading the installer, try turning off your Internet or Wi-Fi connection, and then reinstalling.

Any luck?

Update Win10 to the latest release version.

Please ensure your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements to run Creative Cloud + OS + all other apps you use. Check each one.
