Hi, Each time I attempt to install Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 on Windows 7 machine I receive the message "Installer has detected that a machine restart may be pending.. It is recommended that you quit the installer, restart your machine and try installing again". The PC has been restarted several times now but this message still appears. The option to "Ignore and Continue" was taken, but the install failed. Please can you advise?

I had an issue that vexed me when I tried to install the RoboHelp 15 free trial, too. The error I saw said, "Installer has detected that a machine restart may be pending. It is recommended that you quit the installer, restart your machine and try installing again."

I solved it after taking advice I found at the this link FlashPad » Blog Archive » Problem with CS5 / Flex 4.5 : Installer has detected that a machine restart is pending (sol… I chose to rename a key called PendingFileRenameOperations. (I added a “2” at the end.) Another recommendation is to delete or rename an InProgress key which my Registry did not have. Anyway, I was able to install RH 15 after I renamed the PendingFileRenameOperations key.

    Hi,

I have checked the machine where I attempted the install.

Photoshop appears to be installed, and is listed as an available program. It opens when selected, however when I check the Control Panel > Programs and Features I only see 1 entry Adobe Photoshoip CS5.1 . I recall we normally see 2 entries here.

I will try the install again at a later date, but it appears that the program may be installed. Please can you comment?

    Regards,  Graham.

    Hi,

Please provide the error code you get when you get installation failed message. you can try clicking more information and see what it shows.

If nothing helps please try restarting your computer in safe mode with networking and then try the installation.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Bani,

Thank you for your email. I am installing the software on a colleagues machine so will make arrangements to try again and capture the screen shot.
