I've just subscribed to CC
From this list I understood that Indesign and Photoshop should run natively on M1 macs

When I try to install Indesign I am prompted to install Rosetta. Is there something else I need to be aware of?

The new apps run natively on M1 but some plugins and installers may require Rosetta.

Apple describes Rosetta 2 as a transition emulator:

Does that mean that even though Indesign is on the compatible list it needs Rosetta to install it?
Once installed it's compatible? Or it will still need to run through Rosetta?

It means exactly what it says. Installers and plugins are not apps.
The following apps run natively on Apple M1 computers.

I understand the compatibility list - I included it in my original post. Reposting it is not providing further clarity.
Can anyone directly answer/ confirm the following for me:

Maybe we have a language barrier. I don't know how to say this any plainer than I have already.
If you're being prompted by Apple to install Rosetta 2, you need it.
InDesign runs natively on M1 chip computers. But some plugins and installers require Rosetta 2.
I hope that answers your question. If not, please reach out to Apple support regarding Rosetta 2.

Your view of the app is perhaps missing an important point. When you install InDesign, it installs an app called InDesign. It installs an app called Creative Cloud. You will use and see both of these. It also installs about a dozen other apps. These manage updating, licensing, synching to cloud and much more. Adobe are saying that the app called InDesign is native. They aren't saying anything about all the other apps, including the installer.
