Installing Photoshop CS6 on macOS Sierra

Attempting to download on my new Mac. From my account, I click on the purchased product, it downloads, but once the disk is downloaded on my desktop, and I try to click the Install I get this message. Thx!

    CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan/Sierra

    -which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems

    Owners of old programs simply have problems with Mac El Capitan/Sierra... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Apple changed their operating system and THAT is why your old programs won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Apple issues an update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

    Hey! I had this exact problem too, and I spent three whole days trying to install it. I looked everywhere and tried everything, but just now I finally found something that worked!!!

    - I am running the latest version of Sierra on a 2011 MacBook air and everything works fine.

    SOLUTION:

    1. Make a new admin account for your computer.

         - System Preferences > Users & Groups

         - Click the lock in the bottom left corner and enter your password

         - Click the plus sign under the accounts window on the left

         - Put in whatever info you want and select the 'Administrator' setting under the New Account drop down located at the top

         - Put in the home folder account name and leave no spaces in it. Write this down along with the new password.

    2. Write down your current home folders' name.

         - Finder > Go > Computer > [Macintosh HD] > Users

         - Look for the only file with the home icon

         - Write down that name. This is you current users home folder.

    3. Download photoshop in your new admin account.

         - Log out of your current account and log into your newly created admin

         - Download any adobe files you want and install/open them to make sure it worked

         - TIP: If it still gives you that message, then right click on the the install folder and go Show Package Contents > Contents > MacOS > Install

    This will bypass the installer drive and it will use terminal to install it instead.

    4. Drag and drop the applications you downloaded from your new admin to your previous one

         - Open two finder windows, in the first one

               Finder > Go > Computer > [Macintosh HD] > Users > (the only folder with the home icon - should match the name you wrote      down for your new admin's home folder) > Applications   

         - And in the second finder window,

    Finder > Go > Computer > [Macintosh HD] > Users > [The home folder of your previous admin account that you wrote down]

         - Now in the first finder window, simply select all the adobe applications, then drag and drop them into your previous accounts' home folder (Put them in the applications folder, obviously) in the second finder window.

    5. Now just log into your previous admin, go to applications, and they should work fine!

    Note: You can now delete the new admin you made

      It should. It worked for dreamweaver and my other cs6 apps
