how do I install photoshop to my computer?
You install exactly the same way you did the 1st time... put your disc in the drive and enter your serial number when asked
Download & Install instructions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003339 may help
-includes a link to go to a page to download Adobe programs if you don't have a disc or drive
Also go to https://forums.adobe.com/community/creative_cloud/creative_cloud_faq

Moving to a new M2 Pro Mac - inserted my disk for Photoshop Elements 14 an the installer appeares with a no go symbol stamped on the foledr. When I try to activate it I am told "installer" needs to be updated. It is my disk, not a borrowed one, and I have my serial number but no chance to use it.

That VERY OLD program is not compatible... you need to buy the current version
Do check the features first... there are functions the new program does not have, one of them being to create a DVD

Apple decided to block all old apps, so Macs wouldn't have out of date, unfashionable, apps. They did this around 2019 and they will do it again. All part of the Joy Of Mac.
