I think you misunderstood. The Activation Servers for CS3 were recently taken offline for technical reasons. That means you cannot continue to use your old CS3 products. You must obtain a replacement installer and serial number that does not require activation. See the correct answer below for details.

You cannot reinstall your version of CS3. There is no server available to activcate it any longer. You need to acquire and install the special version identified by the links I provided.

How can I upgrade to Creative Cloud (CS3 owners) or Acrobat DC (Acrobat 8 owners), from Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8 I no see any link for me to click or any place for me to key in product key.

CS3 is 10 years old & too old to qualify for any upgrades.
If your computer meets the system requirements, you can try Creative Cloud free for 7 days to see how you like it.

I believe they are speaking figuratively... There is no upgrade path from CS3 to Creative Cloud (CC), you simply just sign up for CC and get yourself a subscription. You can follow the links in that linked page to sign up, or you can try the links below to get started. I strongly suggest you go the trial route before purchasing anything. CC requires newer operating systems... if your system still supported CS3 then I would hazard a guess that it is too old for CC.
