Hy
I bought a LR6 standalone last saturday from Adobe website (updating from LR5) but the system advised me that serial number can't be validated.
How can I proceed ?
Do I need a new serial number ??

The serial number from Lightroom 5 will not work with LR 6. When you purchased LR 6, you should have received a serial number for LR 6 via e-mail. Check your junk mail folder. If that's not it, then go to Adobe Account and your serial number ought to be shown there.

Did you check your e-mail junk folder for the e-mail from Adobe that contains your serial number? Did you check to make sure you copied the Lightroom VERSION 6 serial number and not the Lightroom VERSION 5 serial number?
Also, please follow these instructions: How to convert a Lightroom CC trial version to licensed Lightroom 6 copy
If none of those help, then please quote the exact word-for-word error message.

Thank you, but i used a LR6 code, as it appears in my adobe account.
Never used LR4/5 code (I actually have LR5, so I’ve taken an upgrade version LR5->LR6).
I Will try again without firewall as Adobe suggested to me.
Thanks & ciao
Alberto

If you purchased the upgrade from LR 5, then you will have to enter both the LR 6 serial number and then the LR 5 serial number when it asks for the serial number from a previous version. If you don't enter them in the proper order, it won't work, which might be why you are getting this error.
Also, please confirm that the serial number you are using is 24 digits (no letters) in 6 groups of 4 digits, beginning with 1160. ANSWER YES or NO. DO NOT TYPE THE FULL SERIAL NUMBER HERE IN THIS FORUM. DO NOT TYPE THE FULL SERIAL NUMBER HERE IN THIS FORUM. DO NOT TYPE THE FULL SERIAL NUMBER HERE IN THIS FORUM.
