Lightroom and Photoshop not reading D810 NEF files

Hi. A Photographer i colaborate with cannot get his updated Lightroom Classic or Photoshop  to read his NEF files from his Nikon D810. It seems to read NEF files from his older camara. I took his files and tried them on a freinds computer who is running CC 2019 and the files read fine. Anyone know of a fix for this??
