I have a major problem with the installation of lightroom.

I had troubles to install lightroom updates. Since nothing did work (renaming Folder 1.0 in aamupdater, and so on) i decided to deinstall the programm and install it again.

Now it won´t install!!!

The CC-Cloud programm just tells me that another install is in progress (wich it isn´t).

Errorcode 36.

Since this is my business and i have a deadline to fullfill, i am really ...

Does anyone have a idea how i come by this problem?

Correct answer Waxilium

Sorry for the delay in response Waxilium, as you have mentioned that you have installed your software through a backup, i would not recommend you to use the backup software to attempt to repair the installed Adobe applications as this leaves the applications in an unexpected state which may prevent the Adobe apps from opening or updates from applying.

As a next step i would recommend you to remove all installed Adobe software. You may use the CC Cleaner Tool to do so: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems , After this you should be able to successfully install Adobe applications, and updates, without additional errors.

If you still encounter additional errors updating Lightroom then you may see my post in message #2 on how to locate the error preventing the update in the log file.

If you encounter any errors during the re-installation of Lightroom CC 2017 then please review Creative Cloud download and install errors  which discusses how to review the install log.

Would request you to update the discussion if you encounter any errors or have any questions.

So, the final solution was, to refresh windows and therefore install all over again.
I tried everything that i found researching this problem (cc cleaner tool / creating a new profile / etc.).

At last i cleared my workhorse and installed everything new.
This has left me with a lot of work.

Hi Waxilium,

Sorry that you are having trouble installing Lightroom CC, as you have mentioned you get Error Code 36 when trying to reinstall the app, kindly let us know the operating system of your machine and also is your hard drive case-sensitive?

Meanwhile you may also review the log files to narrow down the issue and know the exact problem, see:Troubleshoot Adobe Creative Cloud install issues with log files.

Awaiting your response.

Sorry for the delayed answer. But i had to fullfill some deadlines and so my way to getting it work was like this.
First i restored the lightroom-files from a veeam-backup.
That allowed me to use and work with lightroom again.
As a result my creative cloud app doesn´t regognize lightroom and the problem with a new installation still exists (of course there is no way to update lightroom)

The Details to my computer are:
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
Running on SSD (Samsung 850 Pro)
Catalogs are on a different SSD
Intel i7 (last gen)
32 GB RAM

On this machine there are only Programs for editing installed (PS, LR, Bridge, CaptureOne, Affinity, and so on)

I playing with the idea to set the machine back to a previous state.
But that would mean that the problem with the lightroom update would still be present.

So i guess it will end in installing it all fresh again (i don´t want to).

So if anyone has a idea how to get this functional again, it will be wonderfull.
