Lightroom Classic CC installer blank screen

Community Beginner ,
Sep 08, 2018 Sep 08, 2018

Hallo, I recently subscribed to adobe creative cloud Photo subscription, and I am trying to install lightroom classic CC.

After clicking to the link, the installer downloads and starts by asking to log in. I input the password and click "log in", and then the installer goes white screen and nothing more happens.

I have already read and tried all the solutions posted in the forum, all of them based on some local cleanup. None worked.

I have restarted, retried, used different networks, etc. nothing seems to work!

This is the first adobe CC setup on this PC so in fact there was nothing to clean up, I just have the Acrobat Reader installed from adobe here.

HELP!!!

Hallo and thanks to everyone who contributed to help me solve the problem.

Today I went to my IT department and with their help I figured out that the issue was hidden in the network security settings, that in spite of having administrator rights on my PC was preventing the correct installation.

Luckily, the IT dept had already investigated the issue in order to enable our Marketing team who use Adobe Creative Cloud, so they solved it immediately.

Therefore the problem is solved and I am now moving

install the cc desktop app from here https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and use it to install your adobe subscription and trial programs.

None of the adobe installers works. I tried them all, including downloading the complete Lightroom Classic CC from the Adobe direct download page, however I always get the same issue: the installer starts, asks my password and then goes "white screen" and nothing else.

It must be a local problem with the installer however I still have not figured it out.

I have repeated the whole CC Creative Cloud installation process and

produced a transcript with all the relevant screenshots in the attached PDF

file. Please note that I encounter exactly the same situation either trying

to install "Lightroom Classic CC App" or to install "Creative Cloud App".

My operating system is Windows 10. I have also tried changing the default

browser from Google Chrome v68 to IE 11 and back, however nothing changed.

Please see the PDF attachment for screenshots.

Thanks for your kind support.

nothing was attached.

don't replay via email.

reply from the forums, Re: Lightroom Classic CC installer blank screen

perform as many steps as applicable:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Sorry, attachment does not work here, let me try again.

In order to attempt the Creative Cloud App installation, I have tried two different methods. Both failed, leading to the same “white screen” installer. Between each attempt, I have restarted the PC in order to clean up all processes etc.

  1. As a first attempt, I follow the link you provided

Go to Adobe Creative Cloud page and Click on “Scarica” (Italian for “Download”)

The installer downloads correctly (bottom left):

The installer starts asking for my CC password

I enter the password and click on “sign in”

The installer goes “white screen” and nothing else happens (even after 1 hour – please note that I am connected to the internet with a high speed optic fiber connection, so network performance shouldn’t be any issue).

Download the full CC App from Adobe, unzip and launch locally.

2. As a second attempt, I downloaded the complete CC app and unzipped to C:\tmp:

In this case, the installer goes directly “white screen” when started:

That's it...hope it helps to clarify

Thanks M

first, close your cc desktop app.

then, rename the opm.db file by:

    navigate to the OOBE folder.

    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

    Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder

and rename the opm.db file to opm_old.db, eg

finally, launch your cc desktop app.

if that fails: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/blank-white-screen-ccp.html
