Lightroom Classic update

So I have an older Macbook Pro (mid2010) which I have been told from Apple is vintage now. I need to update my lightroom classic and Photoshop, but its saying i need a better update. How long can i go without updating and still have these adobe apps be reliable?

1 - turn automatic update off in the cloud manager so you are not reminded about updates you can't use

2 - your existing program functions will remain the same as long as you don't update your Mac
