Lightroom fails to load

I thought I'd give the CC a trial, I quite like the idea of Lightroom and Photoshop in one place, downloaded the CC app and installed both Lightroom and PS. PS works fine but LR will not load at all through the app or via the start menu.
I've tried running LR via administrator option but still wont load.
I have limited time with PC due to work commitments and I've had the 7 day trial running a few days now, I'd like to see how well LR works before committing to purchasing it or paying a sub for it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you update Lightroom after installation? If not, download and install the LR6.6.1/CC2015.6.1 patch. Then try launching again.

I have been trying for several weeks to get Lightroom to open on my iMac mini Pro (bought in January so it's a newer model) and it still fails to launch. I get the opening credits with the guy in the tin foil outfit and then NOTHING it just won't go. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing with absolutly no effect. I have eve tried some of the link's workrounds on the community pages and the links dont work either.

What's the problem?????

did you install the cc desktop app and use it to install lightroom?

I have done this and it's exactly tha same as before except that now when I click on the desktop app it doesn't respond either

you have some more extensive problems on your computer that lightroom.  if those problems are isolated to adobe app issues only:

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails and you have windows, open your control panel > add/remove programs > cc desktop app > repair

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials>

if that fails, you probably have a corrupt user account. google your os and how to create a new one.
