Since about a week I am trying to download Lightroom as I am on a trial since the past two weeks. I contacted support but they failed to provide a solution.
I use the lastest version of Firefox with fresh settings for each session.
I get as far as the my account page and when I click on the desktop download option I get to the page on which I click on the LR download button.
The next thing is a server time-out on the page that should provide the download link. This is really discouraging, and the last thing I expected.
Please advice.

Hi Brucgovn, not yet. But trying right now and to my surprise the links on this page are working fine for me. Currently downloading LR. Thanks a lot!

When I try to download the CC app the download fails. Support tells me it is a 'proxy' issue. It seems to concern port forwarding on my router. Any ideas?

Are you getting any error code like 201 , 205...etc?
Please mention exact error message you are getting . if possible a screenshot.
Home personal Internet connection or are you using Office / Corporate network Internet?

No error codes, my browser just gives a server time-out, connection lost error. Home wired network connection. This is the link I get referred to:

CC installed fine but after logging in, the app appears to be loading content but fails to complete it - it's loading forever.
I will check again after a warm boot.

Have you tried with steps mentioned in below link ?

If yes ,
we will need to check with few things like Hosts , Proxies
1) Right click on the Finder icon on dock and select "Go-To Folder" option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below mentioned command and then hit 'Return' key.
/etc
3) It will open the etc folder, please look for file named "hosts" and copy the same to Desktop screen.
4)Double click on Hosts file , it will open it with TextEdit,
Let me know whether you can see any Adobe related entries inside Hosts file like 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com.......etc??

The 'hosts' file is almost emtpy, no mentioning of adobe or related items. I will run your other instructions later on. To be continued.
