Lightroom update?

Hi,

If I buy Lightroom 6, CD version, can I apdate it to the new version 6.9 at this moment? And till what version I can update Lightroom 6? Is this version is multi language like french?

yes, you can install 6.9 directly when you purchase a lr 6 license.

you can update to the last lr 6. when adobe goes to adobe 7, you'll need to buy it if you want that update.

with a lr cc subscription (actually photographer plan because that's more economical) you would continue to get updates beyond version 6 for no additional expense.

all version 6 updates are free for version 6 license holders.  free updates always have the same major version number (for lr that's currently 6).  when a major version changes (presumably the next lr will be lr 7 but adobe may not make future versions available except via subscription), that would require a (not for free) upgrade.

i don't know future adobe plans but lr in the past and currently it supports french.

Hi,

I looked on different store on the web and they does not say Lightroom 6 french version. I looked on amazon.ca (Canada) and there is no language mention and I asked them, and they do nont know.

Is there a single Lightroom 6 version and we can change the language to French after installation?

if you purchase from adobe.com, you'll be able to buy the french version and, if you wanted, exchange for a different language version.

the exchange policy when buying from amazon.ca is amazon.ca's policy which for opened software might be a no-exchange/no return policy.  adobe can't help you with 3rd party purchases like those made from amazon.

i would recommend writing to the vendor to clarify what you're purchasing and to ensure you can return if you receive something different from that promised.

I asked them a few questions and they told me to contact Adobe. Amazon Canada does not seem to have a very good customers service

are you saving a lot of money buying from amazon.  for me it's about 5% savings which isn't worthwhile.

when you buy from adobe (or least if i were to buy) i can specify french:

you can only choose the language if the installation file is multi-language (and includes the language you want).  that's the whole issue.  we don't don't know what language(s) the amazon.ca file includes.
